Dry-cured cigars are commonly enjoyed throughout Italy and America. When the Suraci brothers left Italy and started their cigar making journey, they were happy to share their love of dry-cured, Italian style cigars with the United States. Today, we’re proud to carry on the dry-cured traditions that started over 100 years ago.
From start to finish, Avanti’s cigars are full of American flavor. The tobacco used in Avanti cigars is grown in Kentucky and Tennessee. Only the highest-quality tobacco leaves are hand-picked and used when creating the perfect blend of tobacco.
After the tobacco leaves are harvested, the dry-curing process begins. The leaves are hung to dry in our special barns. The leaves are then smoked using specially selected Hickory and Oak wood. During this time period, the leaves are left to ferment and develop the robust flavor that is unique to dry-cured cigars.
There are multiple benefits to the dry curing process. Not only do dry-cured cigars develop a unique flavor, this process removes about 85% of the moisture content from the tobacco, which allows for a more even smoke experience. Cigars that are dry-cured also do not require a humidor for storage, which means they are much easier to store and transport. Whether you’re at home or on the go, enjoy one of our dry-cured cigars today!
